Song Writer – Glenn Dinofer

Glenn Dinofer is a songwriter, composer and accomplished musician. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Glenn grew up on Long Island developing the talent handed down to him by his dad who played drums with such greats as Sarah Vaughan, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Earl Garner and many more.

As a kid growing up in New York City and on Long Island, Glenn studied piano, trombone and saxophone. Music has always been a driving force in his life.

An undeniable rocker, Glenn was playing in clubs with local bands when he was in high school. After two years of college, Glenn dropped out to spend every minute writing and recording the songs he had written. That was the beginning!

Returning home from his college town, Glenn began studying piano with Sanford Gold. His love for writing songs led to playing and recording in bands in NYC where he recorded his first material at Media Sound in Manhattan.

Glenn was ready to start sharing his songs with the world and joined a band in Queens, NY with a friend and fan, the awesome, Jimmy Iovine.

Then, with some great musicians by his side, Glenn created the band Jezebelle which then became Lightning and changing again, became the Jamie Danger Band – named for his wife and the band’s lead singer. Glenn recorded and worked with such legendary engineers as Eddie Kramer and Tony Bongiovi.

Managed by Abe Hock, Glenn’s Jamie Danger Band showcased for Clive Davis and was ultimately signed by Vanguard Records and over the course of some years to follow, the band toured playing rooms on Long Island, Connecticut and the Jersey shore with Cyndi Lauper and Twisted Sister.

A friend of Deep Purple’s Ritchie Blackmore, Ritchie and band mate Cozy Powell honored Glenn as true fans of his songwriting.

In recent years Glenn’s projects have received artistic support from the likes of:

Glenn is currently working with some very talented people in Nashville. With years of songwriting experience, his lifelong commitment to creating music and lyrics has given rise to these, Glenn’s most recent songs, reaching new heights.

Glenn now resides in Sharpsburg, GA. with his wife Ramelle and their two dogs. He remains focused on his music, dedicated to his writer and composer lifestyle.

Whiskey and Cigarettes

CHORUS

Got my whiskey and my cigarettes
Somehow I just can’t resist
Pickin up my guitar
Gonna be a country star
Tomorrow I'll be comin back
Tonight I'm with my good friend Jack
Got my whiskey and my cigarettes

VERSE 1

Started out a little kid
Pickin on my porch all day
All my friends would come on by
Won’t ya come out and play
Growin up they all believed
One day I’d be on T.V.
Playin old country melodies

CHORUS

Got my whiskey and my cigarettes
Somehow I just can’t resist
Pickin up my guitar
Gonna be a country star
Tomorrow I'll be comin back
Tonight I'm with my good friend Jack
Got my whiskey and my cigarettes

BRIDGE

I like rain and I like thunder
I like the cold that chills my bones
When you make the stage your home
Late at night when they're all gone
You may find yourself alone

VERSE 2

At fifteen I just hit the road
Getting ready for playin in some dirty holes
Wonderin if I’m ever gonna Make it outta this dam bar
Mama said that it’s from the past
But if you learn to play blue grass
You’ll be the best on that guitar

CHORUS

Got my whiskey and my cigarettes
Somehow I just can’t resist
Pickin up my guitar
Gonna be a country star
Tomorrow I ain’t comin back
Tonight I’m with my good friend Jack
Got my whiskey and my cigarettes
No I ain’t ever comin back
Movin in with my friend Jack
Got my whiskey and my cigarettes

HAD ENOUGH OF YOU

VERSE 1

At the crack of dawn
Putting all my clothes on
Gotta get to work on time
I got these bills to pay
Dressed up in his underwear
Lyin on his ass somewhere
Is the laziest guy on earth a girl could ever date
And there’s only one mistake I’ve ever made

CHORUS

I have had enough of you
Tellin me what I can do
A case of beer won’t get me through
One more night with you
Ya callin burnin up my phone
Why don’t you just go away and leave me alone
Tell ya what I’m gonna do
To you before the night is through
I’m gonna pack you up
Hit the road
I have had enough of you

VERSE 2

I’m gonna have some fun
Strap my high heels on
Gonna meet the girls down town bout a half past eight
Good lookin guys are everywhere
Hittin on me they all wanna take me home
Don’t be lookin out for me I’m getting back real late
And there’s only one mistake I’ve ever made

CHORUS

I have had enough of you
Tellin me what I can do
A case of beer won’t get me through
One more night with you
Ya callin burnin up my phone
Why don’t you just go away and leave me alone
Tell ya what I’m gonna do
To you before the night is through
I’m gonna pack you up
Hit the road

To you before the night is through
Already packed you up
Hit the road

WHY’D YA TELL ME

Verse 1

Look into your eyes to get direction
It depends which way the wind is blowin
In your sole I sense some indecision
I don’t know what to do
Search inside myself to find some reason
All it’s leadin to is mass confusion
Seems that you have come to your decision
To break my heart in two

Chorus

Why’d ya tell me that you care
Always you’d be there
You deceived and ya lied
Tried to make me cry
Why’d ya tell me that you care
You promised you’d be there
Why’d you tell me why

Verse 2

How’d this whole thing get so complicated
It’s like a bad old movie that I hated
When I see your name I hit delete it
I thought that we were thru
This love affair of ours ain’t resurrecting
Can’t handle any more of your rejectin
All my friends said they’d be celebrating
And findin someone new

Chorus

Why’d ya tell me that you care
Always you’d be there
You deceived and ya lied
Tried to make me cry
Why’d ya tell me that you care
You promised you’d be there
Why’d you tell me why

Bridge

Love has a funny way of turnin around upside down
Love has a crazy way of hangin a round way too long

SOLO

Ya broke my heart in two

Chorus

Why’d ya tell me that you care
Always you’d be there
You deceived and ya lied
Tried to make me cry
Why’d ya tell me that you care
You promised you’d be there
Why’d you tell me why
Why’d ya tell me

Kisses in the Wind

VERSE 1

Grew up on grampa’s farm
Daddy he was never home
He drove them big rigs cross the country all week long
Mama always cared so much
Makin sure we had enough
But stuff just can’t replace a father’s love

CHORUS

Kisses in the wind
You can have everything God fills a child with hopes and dreams
Fly just like an eagle now and spread your wings
Don’t forget a mother’s love can mend
A broken heart with kisses in the wind

VERSE 2

This little girl’s all grown
Things change as time rolls on
Hear those church bells ringin
I’m the proudest bride in town
I’d give the world if dad could be
Walkin down the isle with me
Cause stuff just can’t replace a fathers love

CHORUS

Kisses in the wind
You can have everything God fills a child with hopes and dreams
Fly just like an eagle now and spread your wings
Don’t forget a mother’s love can mend

A broken heart with kisses in the wind

And hold’in you once again

I’m all that I can be
Because of you

VERSE 2

Since I met you
All my tears have gone away
You can hold on to

And this whole world quit spinnin
And if the oceans washed all of us away

I’m all that I can be
Because of you

If I could just make time stand still
What can I do
Ask me anything you know I will
If I’m with you
And this old world quit spinnin

When I’m with you
I’m all that I can be
Because of you
If I lost you what would I do
I’m all that I can be
Because of you
